Alice co-designed and facilitated the 'Cell Painting Workshop' at GERF 2025 with Imperial College Biochemists Dasha Berezina and Dr Edward Bartlett.

The team of researchers aimed for participants to recreate the technique of dyeing and highlighting different parts of the cell in the lab, to investigate effects of different drugs.

Alice led the team in creating 'magic effect' sheets which reveal illustrations of cells and their morphologies with the addition of some water. These were created using Hydrochromic film which was purchased here.

Alice also created and facilitated an additional activity for younger participants - a colouring in sheet that describes some of the functions of different structures within a human cell.
